Job Search Tips

The first thing to do is to revise your resume. Meet with a friend or relative who has been successful in business and get them to look at your resume.
Then go to http://www.wsacorp.com/InfoPacket/GetInfo.asp and order their packet of info. The packet will contain dozens of sample resumes. Ignore the sales pitch and concentrate on the STYLE of resume they are suggesting. You will want to reorganize your resume into this style before posting it on the web.
While you are at WSA's web site, give them a call and request a free consultation with one of their recruiters. I did this and during the 20-minute conversation, I got some good advice about my resume.
Once you have revised your resume, it's time to start posting on web sites. Go to every possible site and post. Keep a record of which sites you posted on and when.
Now go back every 3 or 4 days and EDIT your resume on EACH site. Why? because when a recruiter does a search, they only look at the LATEST 50 resumes or so. You need to keep yours in the latest (most recent date) and you can do this by editing it a little bit each week. Just remove a space, or add a period and then remove it, etc. When you save your changes, your resume goes to the top of the list (most recently edited/posted resumes)!
